Local Lodge 1433 History

Local Lodge 1433 was first organized in May 1945 and duly chartered in July 1945. It was Organized by Joseph Curran and Representative Edward Gentile.

The membership in 1945 was 969. At that time it was an open shop and the Union urged all employees to join. In the early 1960's we won a closed shop thru the bargaining table. To day our membership stands at approximately 450 active members and 1200+  retirees.

Over the years the following individuals have served as presidents: Nicholas Stankevich, Edward Murphy, Theodore Hinton, Frank Blum, John Pepe, Frank Dumin, Frank Rocco, Michael Ezzo, Francis Hinchcliffe, Francis Daley, Joseph Ropiak, William Jurewicz, Albert Sanefski, Carl Primich, Peter Janowski, Anthony (Butch) Reznik, Albert Murr, Joemar Furtado, Donald D'Amato and presently Henry Myslenski. Each and every president has contributed to the growth of the local.

Only  two strikes have taken place since 1945.

Meeting Schedule

Union Meetings are held on the first Tuesday, of each month.

Executive Board Meeting:  6PM
Membership Meeting: 7PM
Membership meeting Quorum requirement : 25 members.

Or leave the work to just a few

And talk about the clique? 

Do come to meetings often,

And help with the hand and hearth, 

Don’t be just a member,

But take an active part. 

Think this over seriously

You know right from wrong. 

Are you an active member

Or do you just belong?
